Job Title: Sr. Engineer, Software Engineering (Digital Commerce/e-Commerce)

Job Description:

Are you ready to push the boundaries of what's possible in the digital, mobile and e-commerce space. As part of the cool team you will develop, customize, and test applications to integrate into Client's Digital Commerce space for Open API platforms.

Summary:
Research and evaluate current and upcoming technologies and frameworks.
Plan, design and develop technical solutions and alternatives to meet business requirements in adherence with Client standards, processes and best practices.
Create high quality design and other technical artifacts including but not limited to detailed test strategy/test design, performance benchmarking, release rollout and deployment plans, contingency/back-out plans, feasibility study, cost and time analysis and detailed estimates.
Perform system maintenance, production incident problem management, identification of root cause, remediation of the problems and on-call pager support schedule.
Participate in POCs (Proof of Concept) and help the Department with selection of Vendor Solutions, Technologies, Methodologies and Frameworks.
Collaborate with Vendor Resources for Support of Products.
Perform Quality Inspections and Walkthroughs throughout the SDLC including Requirements Review, Design Review, Code Review and Security Review to ensure compliance with Client standards.

Skills:
Digital Commerce/e-Commerce experience
Understanding of application layering
Experience with the following open-source projects which are now de-facto standards:- Ant, JUnit, Log4J, Jakarta Commons
Java - Minimum 3-4 years of exp. working on Java applications, good grasp of the language and basic Object Orientation concepts
Understanding of Java Threading model required
Experience in developing Java multi-threaded applications preferred
Spring - basic knowledge of concepts required, extensive experience preferred
Hibernate - solid working knowledge required
jBoss - solid working knowledge required
Web Application development
Apache - solid knowledge required
Web Services (top-down/wsdl-first approach)
Solid grasp on relational database modeling and design
Possess Teamwork and Communication skills
Document detailed designs with class and sequence diagrams
Familiar with architectural concepts such as SOA, Enterprise Service Bus and SSO.
At least 3 to 5 years of experience in related field IT field.
Broad understanding of Software Engineering Concepts and Methodologies is required.
Experience with structured methodology such as Agile, Waterfall and project planning tools.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience.
