This role will work closely with department leadership, business partners, and technical teams across Client to develop technology roadmaps and propose solution platforms. Responsibilities will range from front-end analysis and solution definition for new business opportunities to high-level architecture and design and development responsibilities for approved projects. Required Skills: • Demonstrated experience in IT, having served in various roles in IT organizations. • Experience in design, development, implementation and support of highly scalable, high volume consumer/customer facing web applications. • Superior creative and innovative solution design/definition skills • Total comfort with Agile and Waterfall development methodologies • Very strong design and development skills in Web services • Excellent understanding of multi-tier web architectures, OO design patterns and concepts. • Experience working with development automation tools (eg. Jira, Crucible, Bamboo, etc.) • Experience working in a client-facing role is a plus. • Strong experience in logical and physical database design, performance optimization, data loading, federated and parallel data management, high-availability and capacity planning. • Specialist in technologies, frameworks, services and concepts such as SAML and Single Sign On solutions JEE5 or JEE6 Hibernate Spring Information Architecture and Community Design Syndicated web services, and service security J2EE architecture (required) Skills & Abilities: • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communications skills. • Strong business relationship management skills. • Ability to work across organizational boundaries and organizational levels and influence business and technology partners. • Self motivated with the ability to accomplish tasks with minimal direction • Ability to multi task and meet deadlines • Ability to communicate design rationale and build consensus Desired Skills: • Work experience related to Financial industry • Experience using the Atlassian tool stack (Jira, Crucible, Bamboo, etc.) Major Accountability's: • Define development standards for the Personal Payments platform. Define and support a consistent Information Architecture and various open source tools for Java development. • Development of business and technical roadmaps for platforms and applications, and provide input for business case justifications. • Mentor other Architects and Software Engineers within the organization. • Provide subject matter expertise in support of the Personal Payment initiatives in liaison with technology and business partners, and external vendors and agencies. • Lead the development team and provide architecture roadmap using key technologies such as Spring, Hibernate and other open source software/s for Java development. Strong knowledge of SQL is also required. • Must have previous experience leading at least one noteworthy large-scale data-centric solution design and development initiative. • Provide recommendations, define and justify dependencies and priorities for platform investment. Education: • Bachelor's degree required (Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field). • Master's degree preferred. |
