This is an example of experience that another resource on the team has had.  This person is dedicated to Drools and business rules.  The job that is now open is actually a hybrid role of a rules and java development

 

The Services Division manages publicly funded programs that support people with a variety of disabilities.  The goal of the project is to combine the LTC, DD, and PCA assessments into a single automated needs assessment that includes automated eligibility determination approximately 20 programs.  The  role was to identify, clarify, and implement eligibility determination rules in ILOG JRules.

 

·         Leveraged policy documentation as starting point for rules; met with policy SMEs to verify and refine eligibility criteria.

·         Once policywas established, worked with SMEs to identify the CHOICES Assessment questions to base the eligibility rules upon.  CHOICES content often required refactoring to support the policy.

·         Authored about 1,000 rules – business rules, decision tables, and technical rules.

·         Solution used an XSD bases XOM.

·         Rules executed both as web service via Rule Execution Server and in a standalone rule engine.

·         Multi level rule flow required for execution control.

·          Rules implemented using Sequential execution mode for fast performance with minimal RETE execution mode.

·          Extensive use of virtual classes and virtual functions.

·          Performed extensive testing using Decision Validation Services (DVS) – over 2,500 test scenarios.

·          Defined rules to automate the generation of the LTC, DD, and PCA screening document answers.

·          Used SoapUI to test rules once deployed as a web service to Rule Execution Server.

·           Prototyped a JRules to .NET solution for offline rules execution.
