Java Tech Lead
Duration: 6-9 Months
Kalamazoo, MI
Job Description:
Key Requirements:

• Demonstrated strong analytical skills
• Ability to proactively identify edge cases
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide high level technical resources
• Demonstrated ability to architect solutions as simple and easily maintainable systems that solve complex business problems
Primary Responsibilities:
• Provide technical leadership regarding platforms and technologies
• Mentor senior team members on technical concepts and collaborate on their development plans
• Manage the work of contractors and service providers
• Create an environment that promotes collaborative learning and collective ownership of responsibilities
• Lead, facilitate and encourage code reviews and peer programming – identify clear training and development needs for team members to improve
• Continuously evaluate and drive measureable improvements to processes, platforms, tools, and related technologies; provide necessary trainings to communicate changes and measure outcomes
• Consult on project feature lists and lead prioritization discussions
Key Knowledge Areas:
• Knowledge of development practices including source control, unit testing, and continuous integration are required.
• Knowledge of design patterns and the ability to easily explain where they should be used is required.
• Experience with development languages Java is required.
• Experience with development tools SVN, Eclipse is required.
• Experience with key platforms including IBM InfoSphere or similar Master Data Management platform is required.
• Experience with integration technologies BizTalk is preferred.
• Experience with database management including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle is preferred.
• Experience with Agile development is preferred.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent.
