Position: Senior Java Developer
Location: Northern Virginia/Washington DC
Duration: 6 Months
OVERVIEW:
Top tier Mortgage Financial firm is looking for a hands-on Senior Java developer. The candidate will design and develop multi-threaded Java server processes using core Java, spring. Gemfire and open source libraries. The role requires excellent programming skills, communication skills, strong analytical problem solving skills and a passion for software development. Knowledge of financial products and industry fundamentals is a plus. The technical expertise needed to architect and deliver a system of this caliber is high and will demand strong individuals with a relevant set of skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Design and implement multi-threaded Javs server software
- Develop tools for dynamic reporting as well as batch reports.
- Ability to interpret and analyze new requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date understanding of the project and communicate, at a variety of levels, the activities, risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies of the project
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- 4+ years of hands-on software development experience in core java with emphasis on multi-threading
· Object Oriented Analysis & Design
· Multithreading
· In-depth working knowledge of the Java concurrency package
· Linux, including Shell scripting
- Conversant with build, deployment and debugging processes such as maven, Hudson, Jprobe
· SVN, CVS
· UML, Design Patterns
· Familiar with development methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Agile, etc.)
- Must be able to communicate and interact effectively with clients, project manager and IT stakeholders
- Must be well organized and able to meet stakeholder delivery commitments
