Responsibilties
1.) Install of the ITNM product.
2.) Identify each type of device that will be monitored by ITNM and configure the product accordingly.
3.) Setup the mapping of SNMP traps sent by the network equipment to alerts on ITNM.
4.) Verify that network devices are properly discovered and in the correct classes.
5.) Review alerts with network team to ensure they are being reported properly.
6.) Once this is all tested in the dev system, this will be installed on the production high availability system.
7.) Document the installation and provide a turnover document to the customer"
Skills needed and responsibilities
Mandatory:
Strong experience as Tivoli Network Manager and experience of working in Tivoli Netcool Omni bus
Strong experience on Installation/configuration of Tivoli monitoring infrastructure components.
Experience in installation/configuration on Tivoli Network Manager/IP.
Experience in Integrating Tivoli Netcool omnibus with Tivoli Network Manager/IP
Configuration of Network discoveries and Agents.
Configure/customize Network Manager pooling of devices(Fans, Memory, Power supply etc)
Configuration of alerts in Netcool omnibus (meaningful text in alert summary, journal configuration, testing tools).
Configuring Network/Device monitoring Dashboards for Support teams monitoring.
Working with an existing network team to identify traps and to be sent to Tivoli.
Retrieving/Accessing and working on MIB files.
Identifying and diagnosing of Network problems using Tivoli.
Performance tuning and problem determination for IBM Tivoli Monitoring.
Understand the needs of the customer to provide an ongoing solution to the IBM Tivoli Monitoring environment.
Working knowledge on OS, Network and Firewall concepts.
Configure SNMP alerts to send to Tivoli.
Good documentation skills.
Nice to have:
CCNP certification is plus.
Experience in other monitoring tools is plus
Configure Tivoli agents for application monitoring.
Total experience in required skill (years) Minimum 8 years
