Job Title: Network Engineer
Location: Rochester, NY
Duration: 9-12 Months
Job Description:
· Mastery of fundamental networking concepts, as well as network and systems security
· Knowledge and experience with next generation firewall techniques
· Knowledge and experience with intrusion detection and prevention (IDS/IPS), threat analysis techniques
· Knowledge on Security systems and tools, firewalls, networking, authentication and web proxies, compliance requirements and industry background.
· Knowledge and experience with application identification and access control for network security
· Knowledge and experience with user based access control
· Knowledge or experience with Cisco, Checkpoint, F5, and/or Palo Alto products
· Knowledge or experience with current web access services such as reverse web proxy, XML firewall and remote user access a plus
· Knowledge with Cisco LAN/WAN technologies
· Knowledgeable in Networking technologies including HSRP, BGP, IGRP, EIGRP, OSPF, GRE, MGRE, S2SVPN, IPSec, NAT, VRF etc.
· Knowledge of WAN multi-protocol routing solutions
· Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP Network Naming and Addressing
· Familiarity with QoS, PoE, VLANs, MultiCast, ACLs
· Knowledgeable in WAN and Application Load-Balance technology
· Knowledgeable in DHCP, DNS, IP address management (IPv4 and IPv6)
· Knowledge of Cisco LAN solutions (Core, Distribution, Access)
· Knowledge of Cisco Data Center Switching Solutions (Nexus)
· Knowledge of Cisco operating systems - IOS/CatOS/NexusOS
· Strong problem resolution techniques. Able to assist in identification, diagnosis, and resolution of related software/hardware problems.
· Knowledge of Disaster Recovery and Business Resumption strategies
· ITIL Foundations knowledge
· Working knowledge of web applications, web servers
· Knowledge of certificate management through Certificate Authority
· Awareness of Single-Sign-On schemes
· HTML/Scripting skills are a plus
· Possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills: ability to clearly and concisely articulate issues, alternatives, and recommendations and produce engineering documentation and drawings.
· Flexible, adaptable, and able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, high-pressure, fast-paced environment
· Self-driven and be able to work independently with minimal supervision
· ITIL Foundations knowledge
· Knowledge of Disaster Recovery and Business Resumption strategies for Extranet Services
· Experience and proficiency in design and support of advanced networking and information security solutions
· Network security and incident response.
