Job Description-
Position: Release Manger
Location: Atlanta, GA
Duration: 6+ Months
Good candidate will fit the following profile:
- 5-7 years of release management experience in telecom domain
- Should have managed medium to large scale releases (100+ applications per release)
- Around 12-15 years of total experience in telecom/cable services
- Ability to interface with senior managers, directors, VPs
- Should have worked with complex releases
- Should be aware of the different types of releases like minor release, major release etc.
- Should be able to do program management to some extent.
Release Manager:
- Should have good understanding of Release Management (not Project Management)
- Responsible for the planning, design, build, configuration and execution of Telecom Service releases (Video, VoIP etc.)
- Responsible for managing all aspects of the end to end release process (release strategy, governance, deployments and promotions throughout development cycle)
- Provides management reports on release progress
- Service release and deployment policy and planning
- Deals with release package design, build and configuration
- Deals with release package acceptance including business sign off
- Deals with service roll out planning including method of deployment
- Deals with release package testing to predefined acceptance criteria
- Signs off the release package for implementation
- Able to participate in requirement definition
Initial Key Drivers for Release Manager:
- Develop baseline of current and upcoming releases
- Manage all aspects of releases
- Provide clear, timely and accurate reporting
- Clear communication with Business Stakeholders, QA, Development, R&D and other teams.
