Job Description:
The Senior Linux Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining Linux based systems in a multi-tier distributed systems architecture. Job duties include:
• Deployment and management of an OpenStack cloud operating system running on Red Hat Linux
• Administration of Linux systems, including deployment, configuration, monitoring and patching
• Create and maintain operating system and application images, packages, and configurations
• Solve complex problems, performance issues and determine root cause analysis
• Automation of system support functions with the ultimate goal of obtaining end-to-end automation of the infrastructure lifecycle by leveraging cloud computing and orchestration technologies
Skills:
• Prior experience with OpenStack, or desire to quickly learn and become an OpenStack expert
• Linux engineering or administration experience (Red Hat ideal)
• Experience managing Linux-based Open Source hypervisors and guest instances
• Ability to install and manage Linux-based system management tools, such as Puppet, Red Hat Satellite, and Foreman
• Experience with programing/scripting languages such as bash, Python, or Java
• Experience with some or all of the following Linux-based services/applications desired: KVM, bind, rsyslogd, OpenLDAP, rabbitmq, postfix, and Nagios
• Familiarity with Apache, JBoss, and MySQL
