IT Project Manager
Summary:
The Project Manager manages one or multiple client projects and oversees the successful delivery of each project considering timeframe, scope, quality and budget.
The individual will be an experienced professional with demonstrated ability to build client relationships (internal and external) by establishing project strategy and deliverables; developing and delivering solutions; managing a matrix team of project resources. In addition, the PM will maintain communication with management and the client on the status of the project and develop and maintain status documents and project plans.
Responsibilities:
· Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, contractors and internal resources (locally and remotely) to achieve the project objectives.
· Act as primary point of contact for the project team to the client and manage their expectations by building and expanding relationships; communicate project status, project plan and open issues; prepare status reports; identify and negotiate future project prioritization and phases as necessary.
· Manage the successful delivery of the project by consistently monitoring and communicating team deliverables; monitoring project progress; conducting project reviews; preparing and completing action plans; tracking action items.
· Coordinate and proactively collaborate with lead project team members (locally and remotely) to ensure communication is effective and project interdependencies are known.
· Report project status on a regular basis to management and escalate issues when necessary to ensure the progress of the project.
· Manage project scope and monitor budget, ensuring any changes in scope are quickly communicated to all parties to ensure requested deliverables are achieved. Scope and document all changes that would require additional budget approval from Program Management prior to implementation.
· Understand the integration of disparate computer systems as designed by the technical resources in order to support and communicate solution approach.
· Ensure proper project scoping documents exist to ensure expectations are met, deliverables are achieved, scope and changes are managed.
· Utilize problem solving skills, business skills, solid verbal and written communication skills, excellent relationship building skills, as well as strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
· Manage all internal and external communications related to development cycles and release notes.
Skills and Experience
· Bachelors Degree in business, software engineering or computer science desirable
· Demonstrated experience in leading multi-million dollar engagements through entire project life cycle.
· 5+ years of Project Management experience demonstrating delivery of project on time, within budget and providing business value
· Strong problem solving skills working in demanding environment
· Experience working with cross-functional and cross-organizational (project teams, clients, partners) teams, collaboratively.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Excellent leadership and management skills
· Some travel – 10-15%
