Position: Senior Support Engineer (Server) Location: Lockport / Buffalo NY Duration: Long Term Technical/Functional skills: · Knowledge of core system programs and PC applications utilized by the Client. · Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems · Prior experience supporting large production applications in a fast-paced, complex hardware/software environment. · A background in software development is preferred. · Must possess ability to prepare written reports · Must possess the ability to analyze and resolve problems. · Strong written and communication skills. · Knowledge of bank policies, procedures, products and industry practices. · Highly self-motivated and directed · Keen attention to detail · Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities · Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. · Strong customer service orientation · For some specialized roles, knowledge of JBoss, MQSeries, IIS, Connect Direct, SQL Server, Oracle, J2EE, .net Framework, or Websphere is required. Education/Experience/Licenses etc.: · Bachelor Degree or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or equivalent work experience · A minimum 8-10 years’ experience in software support or a network environment · Working knowledge of Microsoft Server 2003/2008 and Client frameworks · Experience working within an enterprise LAN/WAN MPLS environment · Previous experience with web applications interfaces · Database experience with SQL Server · Understanding of Storage Hardware Architecture including SAN/ISCSI · Experience trouble shooting IP network issues is preferred · Knowledge of HTTP & HTTPS protocols is preferred · Knowledge of Secure File Transfer Methods · Experience with Active Directory Integrations is preferred · Understanding of Replication Technologies · General Web Server Experience · Virtualization technology experience preferred · Scripting experience preferred · Experience with software monitoring and performance tools preferred Preferred Experience · 5-10 years of experience in Financial Services or Technology functions/processes including one or more of the following: · Experience delivering or supporting technology solutions aligned to business functions, including; Compliance, Credit Risk, Fraud, Deposit Operations, Item Processing, Payment Operations, Accounting, Financial Planning, Capital Management, Regulatory Reporting and Human Resources · Experience managing regulatory or risk technology systems and projects aligned to Consumer Lending and Residential Mortgage · Experience supporting a diverse portfolio technology solutions, systems or projects in a Financial Services organization.
