Senior System Engineer  . FINANCIAL SERVICES EXPERIENCE IS CRUCIAL or experience is a high volume transaction i.e Retail E commerce. Client is doing a complete refresh. Moving their Data Center.

MUST BE LOCAL

The Senior System Engineer will be responsible for architecture and delivery of key Microsoft systems, applications, and IT infrastructure. This includes infrastructure planning, application support, analysis, design, setup, technical documentation, and reporting. Ideal candidate must have Active Directory and Exchange 2010 design, troubleshooting, and support. The candidate must also have extensive experience in VMware deployment as well as Windows 2003/2008/2008 R2 server experience including clustering technologies. MCSE certification is preferred. Experience in large-scale enterprise in large-scale enterprise implementations and familiarity with the methodology and approach required for these implementations is required. Experience and use with ITIL processes is important. Must be a detail oriented and self-motivated individual who excels at completing tasks successfully, efficiently, and on time.

Responsible for:

  • Provide in-depth technical and design expertise on large-scale infrastructure projects for the enterprise.
  • Assess, Architect, project Plan, Implement, Document and Support systems and produce technical requirements.
  • Subject matter expert for specific technologies (e.g. Microsoft, VMware, Citrix).
  • Must have extensive knowledge with HP hardware (servers, EVA storage arrays), and Network Appliance SAN.
  • Clearly communicate problem/resolution process to internal clients and management.
  • Presentation of design and deployment strategies.
  • Network and application troubleshooting.

 

 

Skills Required:

At least 10 years of solid systems engineering experience assessing, architecting, project planning, implementing, documenting and supporting large-scale computing environments; with an emphasis on Microsoft, Virtualization, Storage Solutions and Networking technologies within a financial institution.

  • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to design and deploy Microsoft technologies.
  • A professional, business-focused attitude and courteous manner towards management, clients, and peers.
  • Solid experience presenting and/or demonstrating new technology recommendations from a business perspective.
  • Best Practice Administration of Complex Computing Environments.
  • Ability to work weekends and/or off hours as necessary to meet deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; equivalent experience acceptable.
  • Microsoft - Windows Server 2003 / 2008 / 2008 R2
  • Microsoft - Windows Desktop Operating Systems (XP/Vista/W7)
  • Microsoft - Active Directory (AD)
  • VMware ESX and Desktop Virtualization products

  • Microsoft - SQL Server 2005/2008/2008 R2 / Oracle 11g
