Description:
Role: Hadoop Admin
Location :Atlanta, GA
Duration: 12months
Responsibilities:
· General Linux system administration: configuration, installs, automation, monitoring, etc.
· Automate operation, installation and monitoring of Hadoop ecosystem components/services like: HDFS, Map/Reduce, Yarn, HBase, Oozie, Hue, etc.
· Work with the team in providing hardware architectural guidance, planning and estimating cluster capacity, and creating roadmaps for Hadoop cluster deployment
· Continuous evaluation of Hadoop infrastructure requirements and design/deploy solutions (high availability, big data clusters, etc.)
· Troubleshoot and debug Hadoop ecosystem run-time issues.
· Recovering from node failures and troubleshooting common Hadoop cluster issues
· Document all production scenarios, issues and resolutions.
· Participate in a periodic on-call rotation.
Skills and Experience:
· 2-3 years of engineering operations experience, including 1-2 years of Hadoop experience.
· Strong Linux administration experience
· Expertise in building and tuning Hadoop clusters
· Very Good understanding of HDFS, Map Reduce and YARN concepts.
· Familiarity in maintaining NoSQL clusters, like, HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB, Redis, CouchBase, etc.
· Good experience deployment automation tools like Puppet, chef, docker, etc
· Proficiency in scripting languages (bash or python)
· Strong knowledge of open source monitoring tools such as Nagios, Ganglia, Zabbix.
· Team player with good communication skills and ability to perform under pressure
