Position 1: Senior DevOps Lead
Location: Fremont, CA
Duration: 6-12+ Months Contract
Start Date: ASAP
Our Client is seeking an experienced DevOps Lead to join the Application team. This is a very visible opportunity to showcase your talent to accelerate your career. As a DevOps Lead, you will be working with world class engineering and operations teams to scale up our application environment.
Work closely with developers, Operations team, DBAs in supporting new applications features, environment provisioning and maintaining SDLC instances. Help in designing and implementing processes and tools to support SDLC instance provisioning and maintenance.
Responsibilities
· Primary owner of SDLC instances for the Tesla Motors internal applications.
· Work with development, QA, operations and project management teams to setup SDLC environments in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
· The DevOps lead will bridge between the Dev and Operations teams.
· Maintain the SDLC instances.
· Evaluate cross-team and cross-functional requirements.
· Coordinate Data / Code refresh of all SDLC Apps
· Assign Application Projects to SDLC instances
Minimum Qualifications
· 5 years of experience supporting DevOps, Sys Administration and a bachelor’s degree, or 2+ years and a master’s degree.
· Expertise in configuration and management of software development environments.
· Experience in build, deploy, troubleshooting and maintaining web services.
· Experience in Build Automation tools like Jenkins, CruiseControl
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate technical issues to nontechnical and technical audiences.
· Experience working in a large scale operational environment.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
· Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools.
· Experience with systems and IT operations.
· Comfort with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment.
· Strong grasp of automation tools.
Position 2: IT Project Manager – Operations, Infrastructure & DevOps
Location: Fremont, CA
Duration: 6-12+ Months
Start Date: ASAP
Our Client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual committed to successfully delivering technical projects to join our Project Management Office. The individual will be responsible for managing key operations and infrastructure projects across our IT function. He/she will work with multiple technologies to address challenging IT issues in fast-paced, dynamic, and rapid-growth environment. He/she will be responsible for establishing and maintaining positive business relationships throughout the business community and IT, while delivering timely, viable solutions.
Work closely with developers, Operations team, DBAs in supporting new applications features, environment provisioning and maintaining SDLC instances. Help in designing and implementing processes and tools to support SDLC instance provisioning and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
· Engage, promote and improve the Tesla Motors IT Project Life Cycle methodology
· Control the day-to-day aspects of projects (may include multiple projects) with regard to scope, schedule, resources and budget
· Establish and manage project schedules and work breakdown structures to ensure project objectives are met
· Create and drive project plans to optimize resources
· Coordinate activities of sub-teams
· Document and communicate status, issues, and risks in a timely manner to project team and senior management
· Manage project issues to resolution
· Serve as the first point of escalation for the project team
· Build strong business relationships
· Actively participate in the execution of the PMO strategy within the organization
Skills:
Technical Skills:
· 3+ years experience project managing infrastructure initiatives (e.g., datacenter setup, WAN implementation, Disaster recovery setup, and Client deployments including large-scale OS upgrades). Experience coordinating complex infrastructure builds a big plus.
· 3+ years experience with IT DevOps
· Strong SDLC understanding
· Expertise of Application Tiers & Topology; experience with infrastructure sizing for applications
· Has managed projects involving deployment of applications in production & non-production environments
· Managing Application Code & Data Refreshes
· Must have extensive experience with Hardware, Software, Application configuration & integration, including:
o Anticipating & defining hardware requirements.
o Building application environments
o Application monitoring & troubleshooting
· Understanding of change management and release management
· Coordinating cross-functional teams - Infrastructure, apps development, QA, performance & release teams, along with business groups for UAT
Soft Skills:
· Demonstrated experience leading IT projects in infrastructure, operations, networking, telecom, and/or security
· Demonstrated experience in applying project management methodology
· Demonstrated track record of delivering projects in scope, on-time, and within budget
· Outstanding oral and written communication
· Outstanding facilitation, leadership and problem solving skills
· Demonstrated commitment to quality
Education & Work Experience Requirements
· BA/BS in Business Management, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related area
· Minimum 10 years of demonstrated experience in leading projects in an enterprise environment; global experience desired.
