Job Description :-
The Principal Engineer - BI’s will determine designing and implementing database structural requirements and analytic capabilities by analyzing client operations, applications, and programming, reviewing objectives with clients, evaluating current systems and developing/installing solutions. The Principal Engineer - BI’s is also responsible for generating and compiling reports based on his or her findings.
Responsibilities
• Participate in setting the strategy for data warehousing and business analytics; set standards and best practices for programming and data security
• Develops highly available, and reliable database solutions by designing proposed system; defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, security, back-up, and recovery specifications.
• Maintains database performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems; calculating optimum values for parameters; evaluating, integrating, and installing new releases; completing maintenance; answering user questions.
• In conjunction with data owners and business units, develop models, procedures, and protocols for reporting in concert with company goals.
• Develops Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) processes to acquire and load data spanning across various on-premise and cloud based applications
• Collaborate with business leaders, application teams, and subject-matter experts to a establish technical vision and analytics strategies for global business functions
Position Requirements :
• Experience (10 years and above) with technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, report writing and data modeling techniques
• Experience (10 years and above) with architecture, design and implementation of high traffic, highly available and scalable data system
• Experience (10 years and above) with SQL Server, SSAS, SSIS and SSRS
• Experience (5 years and above) with technologies/platforms such as Google Big Query, MongoDB, Hadoop, OBIEE, Tableau, Informatica and/or Talend
• Experience (5 years and above) with SaaS solutions such as Workday, Salesforce, SAP and Great Plains
• Experience in designing prototypes and working closely with implementation teams in engineering and operations
• Experience collaborating with global teams
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Project management skills and project management software skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborative with other staff members
Formal Education & Certification
University degree in the field of computer science or information management systems and 10 years related work experience.
