Install, configure, maintain, & upgrade various versions of applicable database software(s) which may be installed on a variety of hardware platforms. Responsible for proactive monitoring of the databases and performance monitoring and tuning of the databases. Responsible for implementing database backup’s regularly and performing recovery activities when required. Responsible for database change management & data management through the various stages of the development life cycle. Lead direction of documentation standards and reviews. Responsible for working closely with users & management to maintain & continually improve the operations, maintenance & documentation of the system. Will assist in setting strategic database direction for the organization. Develop long term strategic road map for technology area. Develop performance metrics; build recommendations, and justification to implement change. Will partner with developers and end users on query building and optimization. Will facilitate and drive the DBA team to create, formalize, and monitors database standards. Ensure the data of the company isn’t compromised or breached. Other duties as assigned. Requirements MINIMUM: • 7 years experience as a database administrator. • Certification of current RDBMS release or preceding release. • 7 years experience using DB2, Oracle or SQL Server PREFERRED: • Experience in OS administration. • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology Knowledge & Skills MINIMUM: • Possesses strong time management skills and partners with others in the team to encourage good time management skills • Strong interpersonal skills both verbal and non-verbal that emphasis a customer focuses and creating win-win outcomes • Mastery identifying and documenting business requirements, technical requirements and functional design • Mentors others in formal project methodologies, change control processes, and general database administration • Advanced understanding of the business information needs and processes of the company • Strong understanding of the underlying operating system and disk subsystems and mentors other DBAs on how to use this knowledge • Superior knowledge of the physical database design and architecture • Mastery on all different types of backup & recovery scenarios and solutions • Mastery level ability in performance and tuning at the system and database layer. • Mastery level experience of tools to support, administer or diagnose the RDBMS. • Mastery level experience in securing database environments. • Understands industry compliance regulations such as SOX and PCI PREFERRED: • Project management skills • Knowledge of the financial industry Specialty Area – SQL: • Master level experience in administering SQL Server 2005/2008R2/2012 on Windows 2008R2 or 2012 • Master level experience in SQL Profiler and SQL Networking • Fluent in SQL Server Clustering and and Always On, mirroring and replication technologies • Experience in SSAS, SSIS, or SSRS • Fluent in Idera and SCOM monitoring • Fluent in writing T/SQL scripts • Specialty Area – DB2: • Fluent in writing and debugging SQL statements • Master level experience with DB2 on z/OS • Fluent in Omegamon and MainView monitoring • Good understanding of BMC tools such as MainView, Change manager Catalog Manager, SQL Workbench, Apptune) • Fluent in sub-system level tuning Ron Witcher StaffingPipeline 5001 California Ave., Suite 140 Bakersfield, CA 93309 (661) 665-1919 This message is intended for recruiting and consulting professionals only and is not intended as a solicitation.
