Job Title: Solutions Architect 
Duration: 8+Months
Location: Bethesda MD
Interview Process: 2 phone possible face 
 
Specific job responsibilities include designing, implementing, managing and migrating VDI environments using VMware; managing the security and stability of the VMware product; managing all facets of the subsystems necessary to support the virtual desktop application and delivery environment; Must have expertise supporting the following: 
  • Active Directory 
  • VMware Horizon View (a plus) 
  • VMware vSphere 5 or later 
  • VMware ThinApp 
  • VMware Full and Linked Clone Technology 
  • ESX 5 or later 
  •  
Key Responsibilities & Duties 
  • Significant experience (3 years) designing, implementing, managing, and supporting production environments using VMware products. 
  • Extensive knowledge of VMware technologies. 
  • Excellent application integration troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose system problems. 
  • Experience using full and linked clones is a Plus. 
  • Experience using Persona Management tools such as Liquidware Labs Profile Unity. 
  • Experience building VMware images 
  • Ability to analyze problems and provide alternative solutions and recommendations. 
  • Lead improvements based on technology, best practices, or changing requirements. 
  • Ability to document the environment and maintain updates to the baseline documentation. 
  • Provides ongoing management of configuration and layout of VMware virtual infrastructure. 
  • Performs necessary virtual infrastructure maintenance in accordance with EMC and customer's change management policies. 
  • Strong experience supporting Active Directory. 
  • Provides analysis of environment and best practice knowledge transfer. 
  • Recommends changes to procedures which result in operational optimization and increased utilization of virtual infrastructure investment. 
  • Responsibility for ongoing recommendations and best practices, as applicable, for improving the environment. 
  • May be responsible for capacity planning as well as disaster recovery planning and design as applicable. 
  • Provides knowledge transfer to customer staff to increase understanding and knowledge of VMware technologies including optimal use of VMware functionality. 
Required Skillsets 
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, computer science or related technical field or equivalent experienceVMware certifications 
  • Experience supporting a DoD environment a Plus
