Automation Engineer w/HPOO experience
 
Position Purpose:
The Automation Engineer possesses extensive experience designing, managing, and configuring automation scripts and tools.  This individual is considered a subject matter expert in this domain. They will possess the capability to take high level requirements and develop automation flows/scripts using HP Operation Orchestration, Powershell, Javascript, and other scripting languages.  This individual will be a key member of the team providing guidance, technical direction and strategy as well as assisting in operationalizing automation processes
 
*****Our client just purchased HP Orchestrator – they need people who have set it up and architected it – HPSA and HPNA (modules within HPOO are most important).  Candidate will build flows using HPOO – any scripting language will work:  Powershell/Ruby/BASH/Javascript/Python - Heavy windows environment – large enterprise setting (they have approx. 20K servers).  They need to be an HPOO expert.*****
 
Essential Job Responsibilities:  
  •          Develop scripts and automation flows to support the Command Center operations across multiple technology platforms. 
  •          Design and develop automation flows using HP Operations Orchestration, understanding key components related to:
    • Accelerator pack flows and set-up 
    • Integration with other vendor or custom tools 
    • Use of custom developed operations and subflows 
    • Web service based flow development 
    • Development of scriptlets / additional simple operations 
    • Build automated runbook scripts for Windows and Linux,  
  • Performs unit testing.
  • Sets and follows code standards.
  • Participates in and leads code reviews.
  • Documents scripts and work flows.
  • Reviews specifications and provides time estimates on the development of projects and features.
  • Ability to break-down complex tasks into smaller sub-components.
  • Capable of working in a team environment and directing the work of others.

Required Qualifications:
Education: 
 
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
 
Job Related Experience:
  • 4+ years of HPOO required.  Powershell is a plus.
  • 5+ years of scripting experiencing using multiple languages such as bash, powershell, javascript, python, ruby, etc.
 
Additional Skills/Knowledge:
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Possesses industry best practices, frameworks and processes for operations automation and monitoring.
  • Provide presentations of architectural and functional designs to management.
  • Understands network components and concepts using Brocade, F5 and Cisco.
  • Experience with business requirements, technical analysis and design, coding, and testing
  • Knowledge of integration points and the order in which these must be executed
