Description
SOM DTMB supporting MDOT, is recruiting a Senior Oracle DBA for its Enterprise Customer Service Department that will provide enterprise-wide technical expertise in ORACLE database administration to the database team, application development teams, data architects, and business data stewards. This position is to serve as an Oracle Database Administrator responsible for supporting Oracle database environments for the Department of Transportation. The person in this position will plan, coordinate and implement a full range of professional database administration tasks and duties: Database installation, patching and configuration: Database performance monitoring, tuning and troubleshooting; Database backup and recovery; and Data migrations and management. |
Required Skills: · Experience with Oracle Spatial · Provide support for growing Oracle Spatial needs, including installation, tuning and trouble shooting Assist in the implementation of Oracle Statewide Standards · Experience with Oracle 11g , 12c · Working knowledge of DDL, DML, PL/SQL, stored procedures, triggers, views, constraints and cursors Proficiency with Oracle performance tuning · Proficiency with database backup and recovery using Oracle RMAN….. · Ability to analyze and design physical databases and their definitions · Experience with disaster recovery planning and testing · Experience with installation, configuration and upgrades of vendor-supplied software, including contacting vendor on enhancements and problems. · Strong problem solving and conceptual thinking abilities · Excellent written/verbal communication and documentation skills · Able to work independently and deliver high quality results when given a set of requirements Experience with Oracle on Solaris |
Preferred Skills: · Experience managing databases up to 10+ TB · Knowledge of Shell Scripting · Knowledge of EMC and NetApp SAN hardware · Knowledge/Experience with database appliances · data guard, compression, backup tools. |
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or Computer Systems Engineering; or a Bachelor's degree in a related field appropriate for the assignment plus five years of experience. · 1+ years experience with spatial models and algorithms · 2-4 years Oracle Spatial programming experience · 3-7 years Oracle SQL and PL/SQL programming experience |
3 years of professional experience equivalent to an Information technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11. |
Possession of a bachelor's degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in computer science, data processing, computer information, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, or mathematics. |
